SANAC Issue Paper #7

ISSUE: Help aircraft avoid flying over populated areas.

BACKGROUND: Issue assigned to the Air Traffic Control Subcommittee on May 12, 1998.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: Group discussed ways of directing aircraft away from the populated aras in order to reduce aircraft noise in the areas.  When the ILS27R is commissioned, and runway 27R is designated the "Calm Wind" runway, more arrival aircraft will be directed over the sparsely populated areas of eastern Seminole County.

CONCLUSIONS: The commissioning of the ISL27R should help to direct more arrival traffic over the less populated areas of eastern Seminole County.

RECOMMENDATIONS: This subcommittee recommends that runway 27R be desingated the "Calm Wind" runway.
