SANAC Issue Paper #30, 32, 33, 36, and 37

ISSUES:  Establish community outreach program, publish monthly newsletter, raise trust level between SANAC and community, hold more evening meetings, publish meetings widely.

BACKGROUND:  At the May 12, 1998 SANAC meeting these five subjects out of thirty-eight issues were brought forward as noise reduction ideas by members of the community.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:  A Community Involvement Subcommittee meeting was held on Thursday September 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the Sanford Air terminal to discuss these five issues.  The majority of discussion centered around the SANAC web poage available to the community.  The URL (address) for this web site is http://www.orlandosanfordairport.com.  The SANAC portion of the site is currently under construction.  It is anticipated that much of hte periodic subcommittee proceedings will be posted on this web site to keep the community informed.  Information such as meeting times, minutes, and agendas could be posted which could supplement current newspaper meeting notifications.

CONCLUSIONS:  The Community Involvement Subcommittee believes the Internet and the SANAC web site will provide a timely and accessible information repository for the community to supplement current medial vehicles.

RECOMMENDATIONS:  This subcommittee recommends that SANAC initiate a motion to recommend to the Sanford Airport Authority to fun appropriately the design, implementation and maintainability of this informational web site and its SANAC content.
