SUNJET AVIATION BREAKS GROUND
ON NEW FACILITY AT AIRPORT
Sanford, Fla., March 12, 1999 During a groundbreaking ceremony March 17, 1999, at 9:00 a.m., 2841 Flightline Avenue, Sunjet Aviation Inc. will begin construction on their new facilities at the Orlando Sanford Airport. The 23,250 square-foot structure will be home to a terminal building with a first-class passenger waiting area, flight planning room, pilots lounge, and a small business conference room. The structure will also house a 15,500 square-foot hangar, which brings Sunjets total hangar space to nearly 50,000 square-feet.
According to President James A. Watkins, "Sunjet Aviation looks forward to growing along with the Orlando Sanford Airport."
The new facility will meet the requirements necessary for Sunjet to become the newest Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the Orlando Sanford Airport. Their newly acquired FBO status will allow Sunjet to fuel general aviation aircraft from their own fuel farm. As the largest supplier of jet aircraft charters between Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta, Sunjets new amenities will bolster this service and allow for growth in their aircraft sales, maintenance, and storage services.
"The construction of the Sunjet facility is in concert with the Airports plans to enhance and rejuvenate our Commerce Park and general aviation services. We have already completed various construction projects in 1998 and have embarked upon several more in 1999 to keep pace with the growth of the Airport and the Seminole County area," said Victor D. White, executive director of the Sanford Airport Authority.
