International Airports (SFB) grand opening of its new terminal complex
is this Friday, March 23, 2001 at 11:00
a.m. The celebration, which
now includes the giveaway of six great Trips for Two courtesy
of Pan American Airways and an aerobatic flight from Keith Aviation, will
mark the completion of the 27 million-dollar terminal expansion that began
in January 2000.
The public and media are invited
to attend and participate.
Also included in the
festivities are: Travel Tastes food from destinations serviced
from the airport, commemorative gifts to all, live entertainment, appearances
of characters from area attractions, and a dedication ceremony featuring
United States Congressman John L. Mica.
The expansion added a two-story terminal facility
of more than 120,000 square feet. The facility increases airport capacity
by three million passengers a year and services up to seven aircraft at its
new gates. The terminal complex now includes 12 gates, accommodates international
overflow traffic and caters to existing and future domestic
carriers.
