Orlando Sanford Airport already surpassed the one million mark for
passengers this year. With 1,018,574
total passengers so far this year, 138,283 domestic and 880,291 international,
the Airport exceeded its 1999 figures by nearly
22%. Pan American Airways alone logged nearly 100,000 passengers
during the same time period. Total
cargo for the year is 22% over last year at 11,151 tons, and operations also
outpace 1999 by 2% with 306,422 total operations.
Orlando Sanford International posted 14,413 domestic passengers and 109,744
international passengers for the month of
October. These numbers place
international traffic 14% above 1999 and domestic traffic nearly 200% above
this month last year.
Construction of the terminal project is progressing on schedule and a grand
opening celebration will be held in early 2001 with the general public invited
to attend.
