BREAKS GROUND ON NEW

INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM

Sanford, Fla., January, 1999 – Orlando Sanford Airport will break ground on a new instrument landing system (ILS), during a special ceremony January 26, 1999. The ILS provides navigational assistance for aircraft landing on the Airport’s main runway, 27R, during inclement weather.

Commissioned for operation in spring of 1999, Hypower, Inc. of Orlando is performing the installation in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration standards.
