NEW AIRCRAFT RESCUE AND FIRE
FIGHTING STATION DEDICATED
AT ORLANDO SANFORD AIRPORT
Sanford, Fla., January, 1999 During a special ceremony January 26, 1999, the Orlando Sanford Airport will dedicate the newly constructed Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Station (ARFF). The $1.2 million state-of-the-art facility was designed to accommodate future expansion to mirror the growth of the Airport.
The new station is a considerable increase in size over the previous facility, with accommodations for 12-16 fire fighters. The station maintains three drive-through bays and an elevated observation tower. The ARFF project was designed by Blankenship Associates Architects Incorporated and built by McKee Construction Company, as part of the 1998 Airport building cycle.
